Diana Hollingsworth Gessler s Very Charleston is a charming book Packed full of facts and anecdotes about Charleston, South Carolina, the book can be read in thirty minutes or so, then kept to refer to again and again Gessler s illustrations are beautifully wrought and fun, as well This book is a perfect souvenir of a trip to Charleston that s how I acquired it, but it would also make a lovely gift to anyone contemplating a trip or anyone who just loves to travel.

This was not a book that I cared to rush through I wanted to savor every page The brief wording and adorable illustrations easily brought me to another time and place This book made me long to take a long slow carriage ride through Charleston.
This beautiful little book is a treasure to the eye and a wealth of information about Charleston It would be a perfect gift for someone traveling to Charleston I was tempted to buy one myself, but I ve quit buying books and depend upon the public library Diana Hollingsworth Gessler s water colors make it a colorful book It is a quick read, but I found myself returning again and again to check on something Having this book along added greatly to my enjoyment of Charleston.
A very quick read Lots of watercolor illustrations, anecdotes about local history, food, things to do When we lived in Charleston many years ago, we never got the chance to enjoy but a fraction of the things pointed out in this book We just didn t have the money, and I was too busy with school It was interesting to read about new things in Charleston that weren t there when we lived there.
Very cute and informative The illustrations were adorable and definitely improved the book A really nice and light read, with a lot of good information My only issue is just the info itself didn t seem local, or the book itself didn t seem to have anything I hadn t heard after visiting twice.
This was a fun primer for our first trip to Charleston, SC We had a slight idea of which parts of this richly historic area we wanted to see on our visit Fun book quick quirky, but not as much fun as Charleston itself
This is one of the most beautiful books I own Gessler is an incredibly gifted artist and I very much wish she would take on the project of doing a Very Richmond
