It may sound odd but since I am a huge fan of the biblical figure of Mary Magdalene, and also I am a huge fan of comics books, well, to me it was only natural to become a huge fan of the comic book character of The Magdalena.I am proud to say that I ve been able to get each appearance of the character in comics that it wasn t an easy task since not always she appears on her own comic book series but she also appears as a guest star on other titles usually on The Darkness, Witchblade, Vampirella, [...]
AHHH3 this was so amazing The artwork is stunning, I love it so much And the storyline is so epic, Magdalena is SO BADASS I want eeeee
I enjoyed this comic, which was written by a woman about a woman, before that was a popular thing in comics It is a comic that falls squarely into the boobs and blades kinds of comics, and while the outfits are ridiculous, I feel like the unique storyline makes it worth reading I love the twist on the Mary Magdalene tale and the modern take on vampires I would suggest that the 4th part of the book doesn t make sense unless you ve got access to other comics from this series.
Again, the art for this series is truly outstanding, the story somewhat less so I liked this better than The Darkness Ulitimate Compendium, but I still thought the stories could have been better For an essentially super heroine, the Magdalena sure loses a lot And I also lost the continuity of the story at times, although some of that is probably my unfamiliarity with reading graphic novels All in all, though, I liked the characters better and thought the action was much better than in The Darkne [...]
This is the exact same content as the two volumes titled Magdalena Origins but in one giant volume of disappointment.I ve already reviewed the other two, but here s a quick version the art is overly sexualized even for Top Cow , the plot is a mess, the religious background is used as an excuse to talk too much, and the writing is beyond poor It does have a few good elements but they re drowned in a sea of poor executional choices.
Gorgeous artwork and an interesting, and sometimes even thoughts provoking story at least for someone who, like me, see a woman on the painting of the Last Supper I was very pleased by this journey to the Top Cow universe and I can t wait to read of their comics.
Stories are a bit uneven in strength, but the art is worth seeing.
